Blue Carbon Cost Tool (BCCT), co-authored by TerraCarbon, published by Frontiers in Marine Science

TerraCarbon is delighted to have contributed to the development of the Blue Carbon Cost Tool (BCCT) and to have co-authored a paper on its model design, which is now published in Frontiers in Marine Science

The BCCT is a framework designed to answer two of the biggest questions in the blue carbon field:

  • How much does it cost to develop a blue carbon market project?

  • What is the potential for carbon revenues to support these projects?

This tool helps prioritize investments, inform credit pricing, and underscores the vital need to stack public and private finance beyond the carbon market to scale blue carbon solutions.

This initiative highlights just some of the blue carbon work being done through our enduring partnership with The Nature Conservancy. TerraCarbon remains dedicated to bridging the gap between finance and on-the-ground action in the blue carbon sector, using science-based strategies to make blue carbon projects viable and scalable.
