TerraCarbon is seeking an Investor to support the restoration of bottomland hardwood forests at the Tensas River National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in Northeast Louisiana.
In return for the funding, the Investor will receive the rights to develop and register all carbon offsets that are generated by the project.
The Tensas River NWR lies in the critical Lower Mississippi Valley (LMV) of the U.S. The LMV drains 40% of North America, but now supports less than one-quarter of its original 22 million acres of bottomland hardwood forests.
The tract of land that will be restored is home to the threatened Louisiana black bear, and the last documented home of the Ivory billed woodpecker.
