TerraCarbon is seeking an Investor to support the restoration of bottomland hardwood forests at the Cypress Creek National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in southern Illinois.
In return for the funding, the Investor will receive the rights to develop and register all carbon offsets that are generated by the project.
The refuge and surrounding Cache River Wetland has been designated a “Ramsar Wetland of International Importance” for its rich diversity of plant and animal communities. It harbors 91% of the state’s high-quality swamp habitat and provides safe haven for over 50 state threatened and endangered species.
