VCR Project in Chile Receives CCB Certification

The Nature Conservancy’s Valdivia Coastal Reserve (VCR) Climate Action Project has been validated and verified under the Climate, Community, and Biodiversity (CCB) Standard. The project is located in the temperate rainforest of southern Chile and involves avoiding the planned conversion of more than 1,200 hectares of native forests to eucalyptus plantations and clearing for construction of a coastal highway. The project attained a Gold Level approval for its exceptional biodiversity benefits. The project was previously validated and verified against the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS).  TerraCarbon provided technical support for the CCB and VCS validation and verifications, and is currently assisting in the marketing of offsets from the project.
